Shministim join protest at Bil'in
Date: 2009-10-25
At today's Bil'in demonstration we were joined by around 200 people, including many Israeli shministim who have chosen to refuse to join the army but, instead, to fight the occupation with their brothers and sisters from around the world.

In conjunction with a week of action taking place in the UK, a group of British activists made statements of solidarity with a group of anti-war protestors awaiting trial for taking action against the production of weaponry sold to the Israeli military as an immediate response to the siege of Gaza. (See more at www.smashedo.org.uk)
The soldiers responded to the nonviolent protest with tear gas and sound bombs, injuring one international who was taken to hospital to be treated for burns and tear gas poisoning. Despite such heavy repression, the demonstration continued for over an hour and a half and ended with everybody leaving together singing and clapping through the clouds of tear gas.
In our thousands, in our millions, we are all Palestinians!

Israel refuses to recognise animal rights
errmm... no surprise that the Israeli government coalition equates animals with inanimate objects. Shame that they feel so threatened that they treat indigenous peoples worse than that...

Efi Brenner, 18, from Rishon Le Zion (a suburb of Tel-Aviv), is a familiar figure among young anti-Occupation and animal rights activists in Israel.
