Mar 2010 - we'd normally give this at least 4 stars, but a disappointing visit. The stars were for nostalgia purposes, and because at least they have declared vegan food on the menu. Monday evening, reasonably busy. Service without a smile, or even helpfulness. Chips were the over salted French Fries variety. Mushroom medley pie was burnt on top, served with vegetables that had probably been shown steam at some point. For our gluten free taster, we asked for extra chips instead of bun with the vegan burgers; the portion seemed smaller than a 'standard' one. Portions seemed smaller than previous visits. Please repay our faith in you and get better...
And now the beer - Brakspear (not vegan), Jennings (not Vegan), Riding (not clear where that was from - anyone help?). End of a disappointing beer week during which we established that Fullers isn't vegan, despite having been declared so several years ago. And remember, if it's not vegan, it's not vegetarian either, but if you like fish with your alcohol, drink up.
